Joining a Great Organization

Why do we exist? Because we have a common belief in the value of computer users helping other computer users. This support effort can be practical and for some even emotional.

     We are blessed by being able to use the attractive Fallbrook Public Utility District facility for all our monthly SIGs and general meetings and we currently publish an informative monthly newsmagazine that has earned numerous awards. It takes time and effort to conduct all behind-the-scene earnest work intended to accomplish what our Mission Statement says.

   Those words of our Mission Statement  require the work of dedicated members and a good number of  volunteers who keep this club alive.

     Regularly, FPCUG, with its range of skills and knowledge and informal opportunities for teaching and learning, is conducting hands-on workshops at the Community Center computer lab to transfer those skills to you. (The scheduled times are listed in our newsmagazine). So, whatever you are using your computer for, this is an opportunity to find out about all those things you had intended to learn one of these days.

Computer First-Aid & Phone Help 

Vendor support is getting scarcer each year and can also run up your phone bill. It’s no wonder that members appreciate our own help services. Experienced volunteers share their time and knowledge to help fellow members work through problems. Just knowing there is someone to call will give you the courage to try something new.

Internet Access

The Internet is the foundation of the worldwide communication revolution. Discounted Internet access is offered by our local Internet Service Provider TFBnet.

Training

Whether you are an absolute beginner or a power user looking to update your skills, FPCUG is there to help you with a variety of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and hands-on workshops.

Reference and Software Library 

Books, tutoring programs and software is available for members to borrow. Often we receive software programs from vendors for evaluation. If you want to get one of these free, all you have to do is to install it on your machine, test it and write a review for our award-winning  publication.

Presentations

Our main monthly meetings include presentations by leading computer hardware and software vendors. Members can win software worth hundreds of dollars at these meetings. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and get to know your fellow members better. It’s the ideal place for exploring the skills of other members and to get the answers to your most pressing questions.
